  • Tamara Pfile-Stohr

Hi!  My name is Tamara Pfile-Stohr and I am a Licensed School Psychologist.  I have been a School Psychologist for over 24 years, practicing in the public school setting, and for 2 years in private practice.  I complete comprehensive psychological evaluations to aid in answering questions about students and providing recommendations for educational, behavioral, and emotional support.  I also provide counseling services and enjoy working with children and adolescents in addressing a wide variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, social dilemmas, and academic challenges.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exercising (especially running!), being outdoors, gardening, reading, and loving on my pets! I look forward to getting to better understand and support families and children.

  • Residents in School Psychology

Some of our staff members are Residents in School Psychology. What that means is that they have completed all of their academic training and are now pursuing licensure to be able to work independently in private practice. Our residents each have years of experience working with youth and have chosen to further their credentials. While they are in what is typically a one year residency they are supervised by Aleta Strickland. Residents are able to see clients with Medicaid insurance or those who pay out of pocket for a reduced fee. Please let us know if you have any questions!

  • Stephen Ferrara, Ed.S., NCSP

Nice to meet you. I am Stephen Ferrara, and I use he/him/his pronouns. I have been working as a school psychologist for five years in both Culpeper and Charlottesville, Virginia. Now I have the privilege to pursue my license with Louisa Psychological Consulting. I am from Pennsylvania originally, and have enjoyed my educational journey through Penn State University and James Madison University. I genuinely love my job and connecting with people through it. In my career I have had the opportunity to work with diverse communities who experience a variety of circumstances. In my spare time, I enjoy working on DIY projects, rock climbing, and playing guitar. I have a one-year-old who keeps me on my toes, and I am also a proud husband. I celebrate my Filipino-Italian heritage and strive to integrate a culturally competent and equitable approach into my practice.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle.
